Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 October 2026

The short version: no accounts, no phone numbers, no payments. Your tables, player names and chip counts stay on your own device. We only see anonymous visit counts.

Who we are

Teen Paati Hisab (“we”, “us”) is a free web app at teenpaatihisab.in that helps a group keep a record of chip movements during a home card night and work out who owes whom at the end. You can reach us at prasadscompany@gmail.com.

What stays on your device

Everything you type into the app is saved only in your browser on your device:

  • Table names, the default chip amount and how you chose to settle up
  • Player first names (or nicknames) you enter
  • Bank takes, transfers, notes, final chip counts and settlements
  • A note that you confirmed you are 18 or older

We use your browser’s IndexedDB and local storage to keep this data, and its cache (through a service worker) so the app opens fast and works without internet. This storage is strictly necessary for the app to work. None of it is sent to us, and we cannot see it.

Cookies

We do not set any cookies, and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking of any kind. Because we only use storage that is strictly necessary for the app, we don’t show a cookie banner. If that ever changes, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.

Anonymous usage statistics

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics service that does not use cookies, to understand how the app is used. It records:

  • Pages visited, the website that sent you (for example WhatsApp), and the time of the visit
  • Browser, operating system, device type, screen size and approximate country
  • Anonymous counts of app events: a table was started, settled, shared or discarded, with only general details such as the number of players in a range (like “5-6”), points or rupees, how you settle up, and how long the table lasted

These statistics never include player names, amounts, notes or results, and we cannot use them to identify you.

Hosting

The website is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify processes technical request data such as your IP address and browser details to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse. We do not use this data to identify you.

Sharing on WhatsApp

When you tap Share on WhatsApp or Copy, the result message (names and amounts you entered) is handed to WhatsApp or your clipboard. That only happens when you choose to share, and what happens next is covered by WhatsApp’s own privacy policy.

What we don’t collect

  • Accounts, passwords, email addresses or phone numbers
  • Payment details, UPI IDs or bank details
  • Contacts, location, camera, microphone or photos

Age

Teen Paati Hisab is meant for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

How long data is kept

Data on your device stays until you delete it. Anonymous usage statistics are kept by Umami for a limited period (currently up to 6 months) and then removed.

Your choices and rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws, you can ask us about, correct or erase personal data we hold about you, and raise a grievance. Since your game data never reaches us, the quickest way to remove it is the button below or clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. For anything else, or to raise a grievance, write to prasadscompany@gmail.com. We aim to reply within 7 days.

Security

The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS. Your game data lives on your device, so keep your phone locked like you would for any other app.

Changes to this policy

If we add features that change what we collect (for example, shareable result links), we will update this page and the date at the top before the change goes live.
